Ty Smith lives and works in Birmingham, Alabama. He earned his BFA from the University of Alabama, and his MFA from the University of Tulsa. Smith’s studio practice focuses on invented imagery and the poetry of light. Ty also teaches as Adjunct Faculty for the Department of Art & Art History at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, as well as for Samford University, School of the Arts.
